Introduced in 1984, this family of print cartridges provides the lowest-cost inkjet solutions. TIJ 1.0 cartridges require no capping station, thus enabling low cost and small printer designs. The cartridge and printer together provide a printing solution which is small, portable, low cost, quiet and media independent, a set of features unavailable in dot-matrix or direct thermal printers. These cartridges are designed primarily for horizontal firing. Basic printer resolution is 96 dpi but is configurable to higher resolutions if desired.
